Pierre-Edouard Fournier will be received by François Braun, Minister of Health, and Sylvie Retailleau, Minister of Research, along with the current leaders of the founding establishments of the IHU, such as Aix-Marseille University.

After the submission of a damning report on the "serious dysfunctions" of the IHU under the direction of Didier Raoult, the two ministers announced in September legal proceedings and the summons of its various leaders.

Several of the medical, scientific or managerial abuses pointed out by this report from the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs (Igas) and its counterpart for higher education and research (IGESR), are in fact a criminal qualification.

Sylvie Retailleau and François Braun also threatened to cut his subsidies to the IHU if he did not return to normal operation.

"Full compliance with the action plan and the regulations in force will be subject to regular checks by the two ministries and will condition the continuation of the IHUm's activity and its funding by the State", according to their press release.
