[Rural Revitalization] The Grape "Housekeeper" of Xinjiang Corps

[Concurrent] Yangmei, President of the Farmers' Professional Cooperative for Fresh Fruit Forest Planting in Urumqi, Xinjiang

We have a total of five cooperatives, covering the cultivation and sales of grapes, agricultural machinery, including agricultural materials. The whole process technology is provided by the cooperatives, and the sales are also sold by the cooperatives. Our employees only need to follow our technical requirements. When the grapes are planted, they can be sold for a good price.

[Commentary] Yang Mei, who said these words, was born in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (hereinafter referred to as Xinjiang Corps) and grew up in Toutunhe Farm of the 12th Division. She shared a series of management experience on grapes for more than 20 years. her hometown and people.

Since the day she dealt with grapes, bayberry has made her a "grape expert" after years of hard work.

Introducing high-quality varieties, learning grape planting techniques, and opening up grape sales channels, 5 cooperatives related to grape supply and sales have been established successively, together with more than 400 members, busy in the vast grape plantation.

Our people have been planting and selling in a decentralized manner, so for them, the economic value of grapes has not been reflected, so we set up a cooperative.

[Commentary] Explaining in Yangmei's own words, cooperatives need the development of the entire industry chain, starting from planting, acquisition, agricultural machinery, sales and other links, and be a good steward of the grape industry chain throughout the process.

As long as it has something to do with grapes, as long as the growers can make money, the cooperative must make corresponding and reasonable work adjustments and arrangements.

[Explanation] In 2020, with a bumper harvest of grapes, the cooperative purchased 1,300 tons of red grapes planted by 85 employees at a price higher than the market price of 4 yuan.

There are more than 30 members of the cooperative, and the profit of each grower has reached 50,000-80,000 yuan, which has doubled the income of previous years.

The quality of the grapes is very good and they are sold all over the country, including Myanmar, Malaysia and Thailand abroad.

Customers are in short supply.

[Explanation] There is always a return for the effort. At present, the company's grape growers cover 100% of the five cooperatives.

At present, bayberry is pushing for time-saving and labor-saving mechanized planting.

Agricultural machinery and equipment have been purchased, and experiments have been carried out in some vineyard areas. When the time is ripe, it will be widely used.

Raising yields and improving efficiency, allowing local grapes to go abroad and go farther in the world is the next goal of Yangmei.

We also have a cooperative that specializes in exporting, which is connecting with the customs, forming a base, making a brand, going abroad, and going to a wider market.

[Explanation] Toutunhe Farm is the closest farm to the urban area of Urumqi among all the regiments of the Xinjiang Corps. It is more than 20 kilometers away. Yangmei and all growers have exclusive access to the best transportation resources, information resources and markets in Xinjiang. resource.

Yangmei told reporters that more than 10,000 mu of red grapes are planted this year, and more than 20,000 tons can be harvested. According to the sales this year, it is obviously not enough to sell.

[Explanation] Up to now, the farm has sold more than 4,000 tons of grapes, more than 10,000 tons of grapes have reached sales intentions with customers, and later plans to store 5,000 tons for fresh sales.

According to Yangmei's algorithm, the grapes here are indeed in short supply.
