Coup leader in Burkina Faso sworn in as head of state

The leader of the military coup in Burkina Faso, Lieutenant Colonel Sandaogo Damiba, was sworn in as the country's president at the headquarters of the Constitutional Council, in the capital, Ouagadougou. After taking the oath, Damiba pledged to fight terrorism and corruption.
