In a corruption case in which a former director of the organizing committee was re-arrested over a sponsorship contract for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, executives of the advertising company Ohiro, which is suspected of bribery, exchanged a memorandum with a company of an acquaintance of the former director. Haruyuki Takahashi, 78, a former director of the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo 2020 Games, received a request from Yoshikazu Taniguchi, 57, an executive officer of the advertising company Daiko, to undertake the sponsorship contract work for the Tokyo Games, and arranged for his convenience. He was re-arrested by the special investigation department of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office on suspicion of receiving bribes totaling 15 million yen as a reward for his work.
