By the end of 2021, there were 5,772 museums nationwide with 46.65 million pieces/set; in 2012, there were 3,069 museums nationwide with 23.18 million pieces/set.

In 2021, the average building area of museums per 10,000 people nationwide will be 243.85 square meters, an increase of 124.2% over 2012; the number of museum collections will be 46.6483 million pieces/set, an increase of 101.2% over 2012.

Over the past ten years, museums across the country have continued to optimize their service efficiency, and the number of visits and services has steadily increased.
In 2021, there will be 31,931 exhibitions in museums across the country, an increase of 58.7% over 2012; the number of visitors is 748.5045 million, an increase of 32.7% over 2012.
