A teacher in his 50s at a municipal elementary school in Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture, repeatedly said inappropriate things like "ignore" the children he was in charge of, causing bullying among the children. I understand.

According to the Yasu City Board of Education, a male teacher in his 50s who was the head of the grade since May this year said to a boy in the second grade of elementary school who was in charge, "I really don't know the language." Let's ignore it," and repeated inappropriate remarks.

As a result, other children began to say things like "Let's ignore it" and "You don't know the language", which led to bullying.

In addition, the teacher said to the parents of the boy that he had a developmental disorder and should be tested, without any medical basis. From the 2nd semester onwards, I changed the homeroom teacher.

The teacher said to the survey, "I am reflecting on my inappropriate behavior," and is currently on leave.

At this elementary school, the teacher had just been replaced in February this year, saying that the temporary teacher's comparison of the child to an anime character led to bullying.

Yasu Municipal Board of Education Superintendent Ken Nishimura said, "I am truly sorry that the head of the grade, who should protect the children the most, has caused the children a hard time. I have greatly damaged the trust in education, and I will make sure that the same thing does not happen again. I apologized.
