Shortly after 5:30 a.m. on the 28th, at a ramp on the Tomei Expressway in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, a large number of gas cylinders fell from the bed of a truck onto the road and exploded one after another. On the 29th, police arrested Wataru Asai (29), a company employee in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, who was driving a truck loaded with gas cylinders, on suspicion of negligent driving causing death and injury.



According to police, the truck is believed to have transported about 120 gas cylinders from Aichi Prefecture to Shizuoka Prefecture. It is said that he made a statement to the effect that the way the cylinders were stacked may have been naive.



In addition, when the police examined the video of the drive recorder of another car that was running near the scene, the gas cylinder caught fire and exploded immediately after falling from the truck.
