First of all, public lighting will be cut from midnight to 6 a.m. throughout the territory of Clermont-Ferrand, outside the city center and “areas presenting a particular security challenge”.

The measurement will take place at the time of the transition to winter time, on the night of October 29 to 30.

Lower heating temperature

Another important change: the temperature of the buildings will drop by one degree to settle at 19°C.

Schools, offices, cultural facilities and associations are concerned.

In gymnasiums, the temperature will be maintained at 14°C rather than 16°C.

The heating period will also be reduced by one month to run from the end of October to mid-April, with two hours less each day.

At the same time, local authorities are carrying out experiments to make additional savings.

The territory's energy consumption is currently 21.4 MWh/inhabitant compared to 42 at the national level;
