And I deliberately provoked him by saying: We hear from the poetry of poets, not the poetry of scholars, and he said with a laugh: That scholars have poetry as poets have knowledge.

Then the second meeting was in his home full of congratulations on the blessed Eid al-Fitr, years later, so he gave us as before and increased by asking about the homeland and the conditions of Muslims while he spread hope, in awareness, wisdom and ability.

I was cut off from him back to my nature in the distance, until the political arrests in Mauritania carried out by the regime of Muawiyah Ould Taya in 2003 and 2004, so I sought with a generous person to him in search of sympathy from the International Union of Muslim Scholars with Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hassan bin Al-Dado;

The detainee at that time was unjustly and aggressively due to his refusal to normalize and his issuance of a fatwa prohibiting it.

And if Anas, I will not forget the man’s pain and grief, and his willingness to do what is asked of him, and with that, he waited to be aware, and to look into the matter from all sides, so what made him his love for Sheikh Al-Dodo, nor his appreciation for the Islamic movement there, nor his sincere standing with the oppressed, hasten without being Completes the object of consideration of the issue.

And the first person to contact him - as I learned later from him - was Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayh, in appreciation of his knowledge, awareness and status in the union, and his knowledge and recommendation of his kinship with Sheikh Al-Dado, as well as their friendship and their jurisprudential and intellectual closeness in general at the time.

Here, Al-Qaradawi’s sense of responsibility and institutionalism emerges. Ibn Bayh asked him to postpone because he mediated with Muawiyah in the file, and he is waiting for him to take a positive step in the matter. Al-Qaradawi asked to wait in issuing a statement, and I personally did not see that, as Muawiyah would not respond positively to Ibn Bayah’s mediation - As confirmed by the days - and Ibn Bayh is not ready to be in a body that takes a position on the ruler of his country who is consulting his son, and this methodology is consistent with the thought of the man who grew up in a system, and became a minister and an official, who did not see opposition to a ruler nor standing with a political prisoner.

I reviewed Sheikh Al-Qaradawi and was urgent about that, and I told him - from what I said - that mediation will not result, and that Sheikh Ibn Bayh will not agree to the union issuing a statement, and there was a meeting in which there was some heat, for the Secretary-General, Dr. Sheikh Ali Al-Qarra Daghi was present, and he sees Waiting for the result of the mediation of Sheikh Ibn Bayh, and Sheikh Al-Qaradawi was embarrassed by this path and saw merit in my words, so what is the solution while the Secretary-General and the Vice President are waiting for a response from those who will not respond?!

Al-Qaradawi respected the institution, but he respected the legal position, and he fulfilled his duty at the time, and did not leave them to fictitious balances as it turned out later, so he issued a statement in his own name, in which he demanded the rulers of Mauritania to release its brand, Sheikh Al-Dado, honor him and deal with him accordingly, and that message is still in the news archives. With the signature of Al-Qaradawi personally, not as the president of the union, and she should correct a word printed in his elegant patchwork script.

I deliberately marketed this incident to reveal an aspect of the personality of the man who does not compromise with what he really sees, and does not go beyond what he sees as institutional, and it is a difficult balance that he would not have succeeded in establishing and managing the largest organization of scholars across the Islamic world without it. The statement is issued in the name of the union, but he did not want to violate the spirit of shura in the institution, nor to violate the duty of time to denounce evil, and that is a true creativity with appreciation and praise.

Mujaddid al-Din..the tongue of the nation

I read Al-Qaradawi early in the preparatory days, and this reading, although not conscious, was calm.

With its bright expression, generous expression, and relentless educational methodology, then readings followed in his intellectual books, memoirs and scientific writings, and he was the best teacher, educator, conscious jurist, organic thinker, and ideal intellectual.

The truth is that this man was not only the scholar of the nation, but he was the renewer of the religion who performed the duty, so God Almighty granted him success by making him one of those concerned who embody the words of his Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: Al-Ghalin, or the interpretation of the ignorant, and in the two narrations, Al-Qaradawi was refining the religion from the interpretation of the Galen to clarify the ease of religion and return to its seriousness, and in response to the ignorant with its facts, purposes, reliable origins and easy branches.

The intelligent Azhari was not satisfied with obtaining and explaining the legal knowledge - and this is not an easy job - but rather he pleaded for it with a sial pen, which has the ingenuity of the writer, the radiance of the flowing writer, the spirit of the compassionate preacher, the transparency of the enlightened mystic, the accuracy of the verified fundamentalist scholar, the images of the delicate poet, the rhetoric of the eloquent preacher, and the sincerity of Feelings, the accuracy of expressions and the quality of the words are what help the rhetoricians and silence the envy.

He was a Salafi without the apparent literalism, a jurist without rigidity, a Sufi without sorcery, and a Muslim aware of the age, calling to God with insight.

The man mixed with the rulers, but he did not deceive, and he debated with the secular, and he did not betray, and he confronted the tyrants, and he did not relapse, and he responded from the normalities of everyone, so there is no weakness, nor cowardice, nor relapse.

He was an interlocutor in a non-rejected argument, arguing in a way that is better, and refuting the argument with the argument, assisted by an intelligent mind, clear awareness, a hospitable tongue, and a clear present science. Without hesitation or emotion.

He benefited in everything and excelled, and he was the owner of the legal position as he was the owner of the legal position, and this duality was attributed in a time when religious scholars retreated, cowardly, or lied.

He mixed with everyone, rulers, notables, politicians, scholars and thinkers, agreeing with them or disagreeing with them, so he did not compliment them in the right and did not retreat from them on a principle, he was not one of those who were tempted by sites nor of those who were fascinated by glamor and appearances, and his relationship with everyone remained within its specified framework in keeping with rights, performing the duty and fulfilling the right.

I console the entire nation in renewing its religion and bearing the banner of defending its causes. I console the working scholars who carry the banner of reform who adhere to the guidance of prophecy. I extend my condolences to knowledge and jurisprudence and the statement and stances that ensue from that. They are orphans with his death, they have lost a humble father and a protective cave, so he was not tempted in the case and was not satisfied with a position below the highest, clearest and clearest. I back off.
