China News Service, Ordos, September 24th: Visiting the power supply "iron army" in the depths of China's seventh largest desert: their youth blooms on the contact network

China News Service reporter Li Aiping

Around the iron ladder with a height of about 5 meters, four young men guarded a corner and tried their best to maintain their balance.

After the aerial work began, the other two young people struggled to climb to a height of about 1 meter from the catenary, and then fastened their seat belts.

Immediately afterwards, the two young men took out a copper wire they carried with them and started working at heights with vise. After 3 minutes, they connected the two UHV wires with a distance of less than 50 cm through the copper wire.

The entire operation process is smooth and smooth, like an acrobatic performance.

This is a scene that the reporter saw in the depths of the seventh largest desert in China, the Kubuqi Desert, on the 22nd with the Internet Information Office of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Party Committee and the China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Corporation jointly sponsored by the theme of "Discovering the Most Beautiful Railway". .

These young men working at heights on the site are the staff of the Xiangshawan Power Supply Workshop (referred to as the Xiangshawan Power Supply Workshop) in the Baotou Power Supply Section of the China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Company. .

The type of work they are now engaged in is quite unfamiliar in the railway system.

On the 24th, Du He, deputy director of the Xiangshawan power supply workshop, introduced in an interview that his colleagues were engaged in a catenary work that provides electricity for electrified railways.

"The catenary work is the behind-the-scenes worker in railway transportation. The main responsibility is to maintain the catenary equipment, keep it in good running condition at all times, and provide inexhaustible power for the electric locomotive." Duch revealed that in the past 10 years, he and his colleagues have They got the best experience in the Kubuqi Desert.

Duch revealed that 10 years ago, the workshop was just established, and the conditions were extremely difficult. It became a "barren place" and "workplace forbidden area" that most employees dared not even think about and who were unwilling to come.

It was against this background that a group of retired soldiers, including Duch, completely changed the situation here.

They used their spare time to level the gravel ground in the yard, and brought in farmyard manure to improve the barren sandy soil; they built vegetable greenhouses, laid heating, water and electricity pipelines, and taught themselves 24-hour constant temperature planting techniques; the 500-square-meter hardened courtyard, More than 1,300 square meters of plantations and breeding gardens have been built one after another.

Through hard work, these "iron troops" of power supply have realized the blueprint of "one-year hardening, two-year greening, three-year beautification, and continuous optimization" on the desert, and truly built the Gobi desert island into a desert oasis.

The reason why Duch and his colleagues are full of respect for this work is that their workshop is responsible for the maintenance and overhaul of the traction power supply equipment between the Yellow River Bridge on the Baoxi Line and the North Khantaichuan Station, an important channel for coal transportation in Inner Mongolia. .

"The Baoxi Line is an important part of the national eight-horizontal and eight-vertical railway network, and the Xiangshawan power supply workshop is responsible for the power supply of the coal transportation channel." Duch revealed.

In the past 10 years of Duch's work experience, the most impressive thing happened to him in July 2012.

At that time, the Baoxi Line suffered a severe flood, and the power supply equipment of Taichuan North Station was severely damaged.

He described that at that time, the dry river that had traveled countless times turned into a turbulent river, rolling down the river with yellow sand, branches and weeds rolling down the river.

Just when everyone was at a loss and was in a hurry, Duch stood up and shouted: "A soldier who can swim, let's go!"

Then he pulled up the rescue rope and jumped into the flood pit regardless of the danger of his life. He even swam and climbed the ground to dash through the more than 20-meter-wide river channel. He fixed the rope on the other side of the river, which won precious time for the emergency repair equipment.

At the repair site, Du He and his colleagues climbed high slopes, dredged mud, carried sandbags, erected pillars, set up cables, and adjusted parameters. Their shoulders were frayed, and the wounds were stung by the flood and rain. They continued to fight for 9 hours until the equipment was installed. Normal operation only "squinted" in the mud for a while.

This experience not only made Duch well-known in the circle, he was also honored to be awarded the National Railway Youth May Fourth Medal.

Duch told reporters that he was particularly honored to be a power supply "iron army" in the depths of the Kubuqi Desert, which was the biggest reason for his honor.

To the happiness of Duch and his colleagues, the environment here is now different from the desolation it used to be.

The reporter visited and found that the current workshop courtyard is like an oasis standing in the sand sea. Whenever the first ray of sunshine in the morning rises, the uniform morning exercises of these power supply "iron army" resound throughout the dawn, the silent desert, winding The meandering railway is full of vitality in an instant.

In late September, as the weather gradually turned cold, as the "power supply" iron army, they said, "Always be prepared for how to ensure the normal operation of the power equipment of the coal outbound channel."

Talking about the experience of the desert in the past 10 years, the more than 100 power supply "iron army" of the unit often said, "There is only a desolate desert, but there is no desolate life."

Duch explained, because they believe that their youth is in full bloom on the Internet.
