An event is being held in Ise City, Mie Prefecture to display and sell ``beckoning cats,'' which are said to invite good luck.

This event is held every year at Okage Yokocho, a commercial facility near Ise Jingu.

At the venue, there are about 5,000 works that have been loved as local toys in various places, centering on the "Manekineko" made by about 40 contemporary artists.

Maneki-neko is said to bring good luck with money if it raises its right hand, and invite people if it raises its left hand.

Some of them have a price of 6.6 million yen, the highest price, and a cat with a kabuki costume, and other unique works are exhibited, and visitors can choose their favorite items. I was there.

In addition, there was also a popular corner where you could paint the papier-mâché beckoning cat made of washi paper in your favorite color.

Mr. Yasuhito Sawada, who was in charge of planning, said, "There is also a venue where you can see the work scenery of the artist, so please enjoy it."

The event runs until September 29th.
