Secret agent 007 will be in the next part of the James Bond series of films in the service of "the king and the homeland", not the queen, as is the custom, according to what was reported yesterday by the producers of the new work, who did not start negotiations with "Amazon" in his regard, and the name of the actor who will take over is not yet known. his heroism.

"We just started our relationship with (Amazon)", which bought the rights to the series from MGM studios, said Barbara Broccoli, long-time producer of The Adventures of the Famous Spy.

"We have not yet started discussing the next film," she added.

On Wednesday, a ceremony was held in honor of Broccoli and her half-brother Michael Wilson for their contributions to Hollywood, during which they dug the traces of their hands in cement in front of the "Chinese Theater" cinema.

This honor was an occasion to raise speculation, once again, regarding the name of the actor who will embody the character of the famous client, succeeding the British Daniel Craig, who took the role for the last time in 2021 in “No Time to Die”, the latest part of the series.

"We will not be satisfied with our glories and maintaining the same formula," added Broccoli, who followed the career of her father, Albert Cope Broccoli, a producer who began adapting Ian Fleming's novels in cinemas 60 years ago.

The choice of Daniel Craig sparked controversy at first, in terms of James Bond's blonde hair and much tougher than his predecessors.

But the five films in which he embodies the character of the client set records at the box office, and "Skyfall", in particular, earned more than one billion dollars in 2012.

All possibilities seem open about the James Bond character in the next part, including that a black actor could take on the role for the first time in the history of the series, as some of its fans wish, or that Agent 007 may be a woman this time, as Broccoli hinted to him.

The producer fueled the suspense by saying that there are constant elements in the espionage series, including that the main character in it, James Bond, is "incorruptible, he is in the service of the queen, and from today onwards in the service of the king and the country."

She explained that "James Bond is a character who does not seek personal gain, but what is important to him is to try to make the world safer," adding, "I think this is not going to change it."

But her father, who created the series 60 years ago, has always urged her to take a risk in making Bond change over time.

"We (the heirs) like to try some things that sometimes work and sometimes don't work, but they make us innovative," she said.

The Broccoli family's "Eon" has retained much of the decision on the adventures of the secret agent, whose films have now reached 25.

Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson have run the series since the 1995 movie Golden Eye, a year before their father's death.

Eon used to share the profits of the series with MGM studios under an agreement that gave the latter the right to finance and distribute the films.

However, Amazon acquired MGM in March for $8.5 billion.

As for James Bond, it is no longer the famous studio that decides, but the tech giant that launched its own streaming platform.
