A 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death in front of a school in England.

A 16-year-old suspect was arrested early Thursday morning, police said in the city of Huddersfield.

He is being investigated for murder.

Fatal knife attacks on teenagers are common in the UK.

Often other young people are the perpetrators, it's about gang wars and drugs.

However, the deadly attack on Wednesday afternoon caused a sensation nationwide because many parents were picking up their children at the time.

In a statement to parents, school principal Andrew Fell said it was "shocking news for our students, their children and our staff."

The school opened later on Thursday and only for those who wished to receive psychological support.
