The activities of the 22nd session of the Sharjah International Narrator Forum, under the slogan "Tales of the Sea", kicked off yesterday at the Expo Center Sharjah, and will last for three days, with wide regional and international participation.

The opening ceremony, which was attended by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, included a visual presentation that embodied the idea of ​​the logo for the current session of the forum, which brings together sea stories and its prosperous history in the Emirati popular memory, and in various Arab countries.

His Highness, the Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, during the opening performances, followed a paragraph on the art of the Nahma presented by a group of artists, a lyrical link that dealt with examples of this ancient marine art, and its varied melodies and poems, which accompanied the fishermen during their sea trips in the past.

The paragraph, which was accompanied by a visual presentation on the screen, included a variety of songs urging longing for the homeland, and authentic values, in addition to some songs.

During his speech at the ceremony, the President of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, reviewed the close relationship between the Emiratis and the sea, as their lives were linked to it, its worlds, and its seasons, and from it they woven many folk and fairy tales.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi honored a number of personalities: Emirati artist Ibrahim Juma Al Haj (guest of honor for the forum), and the family of the late Kuwaiti poet Muhammad Fayez Al Ali (legal personality of the forum), in addition to a selection of prominent narrators and creative personalities in the field of The folk tale, they are: Rashid Muhammad Al-Shahsi Al-Zaabi, Nasser Khalifa Obaid Bushbas, Hathbur Muhammad Kadas Al-Rumaithi, and Hamid bin Khalifa bin Salem bin Theban.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi toured the wings and corners of the forum, reviewing the accompanying exhibition, which focused on the personality of the Emirati navigator and astronomer Ahmed bin Majid.

He visited a number of pavilions participating in the forum.
