According to the police, five years ago in July 2017, he is suspected of invading an apartment complex in Chiba Prefecture, threatening a woman with something like a knife, and then sexually assaulting her.
Inspector Okada was arrested last month for voyeurizing a woman's skirt at a station in Chiba City, and was re-arrested this month for another voyeurism incident.
In the subsequent investigation, the police collected Okada's DNA and found that it matched the DNA type of the remains left at the scene of the sexual assault five years ago.
At that time, the inspector belonged to the Investigation Division 4 of the Prefectural Police Headquarters, as he does now, and denied the charges against the investigation.
