The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) has announced that it will conduct joint training with the Luftwaffe next week for the first time in Japan.

We would like to strengthen cooperation through training with the German military, which is increasing its involvement in the Indo-Pacific region.

According to the Air Self-Defense Force, three Luftwaffe fighter planes "Eurofighter" will fly to Hyakuri Air Base in Ibaraki Prefecture on the 28th of this month and conduct joint training with three F2 fighters.

It is the first time for the Air Self-Defense Force and the Luftwaffe to conduct joint training in Japan, and they will fly in formation to improve communication and skills.

Germany, in its diplomatic and security guidelines compiled a year ago, advocates "multilateralism," etc., and indicates a policy of strengthening its involvement in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Luftwaffe is also participating in multinational military exercises held in Australia towards the beginning of this month, and the Air Self-Defense Force hopes to strengthen cooperation with the German military through this joint exercise.
