"Dubai Culture" announces "Al Marmoom Festival: Film in the Desert"

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is making preparations to present an exceptional version of the activities of the second edition of the “Al Marmoom Festival: Film in the Desert”, the unique event of its kind in the region, which will take place over three days from the ninth to the 11th of next December, to celebrate Filmmakers emerging in the Marmoom Desert, one of Dubai's destinations for cultural tourism, which is a nature reserve rich in elements of local heritage and culture.

Dubai Culture also announced the extension of the period for receiving entries in the Al Marmoom Short Film Industry Competition, which was launched within this edition of the festival until the seventh of next October, as the submission was scheduled to close on the 23rd of this month.

The event and competition aims to enhance the sustainability of the film industry in the region, and provide a platform for film industry professionals to share their experiences and knowledge and inspire new talents to participate in this field.

The festival will celebrate the films that won the first three places in the competition.

The festival will provide an exceptional cultural experience for the public, including citizens, residents and visitors, in light of the traditional heritage of Dubai and the UAE, as well as providing a valuable platform to support the emerging film sector locally and regionally, providing its goers with innovative horizons to showcase their creativity, refine and develop their talents, and reach professionalism.

In addition to film screenings, the festival will include a series of interactive and engaging workshops for children and youth, discussion sessions with experts and industry practitioners from the region and the world, and sessions aimed at amateurs and beginners to enrich their knowledge of the film industry.
