Fukuoka Prefecture announced on the 19th that 1474 new people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus in the prefecture.
It was the first time since July 5 that the number of new infections fell below 2,000 in a day, and the 27th consecutive day that the number has fallen below the same day of the previous week.
The breakdown is 217 in Kitakyushu, 180 in Fukuoka, and 35 in Kurume.
It also includes those who tested positive in voluntary tests using antigen test kits distributed by the prefecture.
A total of 1,059,991 people have been confirmed to be infected in Fukuoka Prefecture.
