The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and Bvlgari, the leading Italian brand in the world of jewelry and luxury, continue to activate their fruitful strategic partnership, to strengthen bridges of communication and cultural and creative interaction between the UAE and Italy.

The Italian brand organized a press conference on the art exhibition in Rome, to celebrate the works of the winners of the Bvlgari Prize for Contemporary Art, as well as a special evening that brought together high-level representatives from the two countries in the Italian capital.

From the 16th of this month to the 10th of December, the art exhibition organized by Bvlgari under the title “From Dubai to Rome: Continuing Beauty through Creativity” at Bvlgari’s main store on Via Condotti in Rome celebrates the works of artists who have harvested The first three places in the first edition of the "Bvlgari Prize for Contemporary Art", launched by the famous brand, in partnership with "Dubai Culture" in July 2021, with the support of the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

A special evening held in the main store of Bvlgari brought together a number of eminent personalities and representatives of the cultural sector in the two countries, in an effort to strengthen communication between intellectuals, thinkers, creators and influential personalities in the two countries, thus contributing to expanding the horizons of creative and cultural cooperation between the UAE and Italy, and consolidating integration in the scene civilization between them.

The evening was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, UAE Ambassador to Italy Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Arts and Letters Sector at Dubai Culture Dr. Saeed Kharbash, and a number of Emirati and Italian officials.

The exhibition, which depicts the connections art can create through its search for beauty, celebrates the work of Dubai-based Iranian-American artist Nima Nabafi, the award winner, and Emirati artists Jumaa Al-Hajj and Dubai-based Jordanian Kamal Al-Zobi, who were among the finalists for the award. Three works competed for the award.

A panel of three experts, including Giuseppe Moscatello, Nujoom Al-Ghanim and Patricia Millens, selected the three works from among the 15 artworks that participated in the award.

The artist was crowned during a ceremony hosted by the Italian pavilion at the "Dubai Expo" last February, in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority "Dubai Culture", member of the Dubai Council.

The three displayed works reflect a mixture of aesthetic dimensions, techniques and contents that express what the three artists were inspired by the splendor of Bvlgari designs and the world of beauty and originality that characterizes the city of Dubai and its culture.

The award-winning artist, Nima Nabavi, combines elements from the worlds of geometric abstraction and nature in his work;

Within the frame of his rhombus-shaped painting, a group of overlapping, harmonious and vibrant shapes appear, forming an exceptional composition that captivates the eye of the beholder and motivates him to contemplate its worlds.

Through his painting, Nabafi aims to emphasize that through human creativity, complexity can be born from simplicity, whether it is a geometric structure or the design of a piece of jewelry.

In his work, Gomaa Al-Hajj used a completely different language, as three colors dominate his areas;

It is red, green and blue, which represent the colors of the three main gemstones - ruby, emerald and sapphire blue - as well as being one of the favorite color combinations in Bvlgari designs that also characterize traditional Emirati jewelry.

The work is an installation of five different panels, each with a monochrome background, all arranged in a form suggestive of a necklace design.

The Arabic inscription forms the basis of the decorative work in the paintings;

Letters with their elegant formations impart a sense of peace to their viewers.

As for the artist Kamal Al-Zoubi, who absorbed the art of ceramics from an early age, he created a creative sculpture, presenting a work in a circular shape that appears at first glance from another world, evoking with his mysterious charm the magic of the rarest and most precious gemstones.

Herringbone bas-reliefs appear throughout the surface of the sculpture, suggesting that each gem within it epitomizes thousands of years of life and the succession of natural events.
