Li Jing said that at present, Xinjiang is about to enter the cotton harvesting season. In order to overcome the impact of the epidemic and successfully do a good job in cotton harvesting this year, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs made arrangements in advance to refine and implement various safeguard measures, and dispatched multiple times to understand situation everywhere.
Overall, cotton in the whole region is growing well at present. Over 7,000 cotton pickers have been repaired and debugged, an increase of more than 600 over the previous year. The preparations for cross-regional operations are fully prepared, which can fully meet the needs of mechanized harvesting. The rate is expected to exceed 80%.
