With an agenda full of discussions, raising the slogan “Culture is a way of life”, the “Cultural Summit” returns in Abu Dhabi during its fifth session, which will start next October 23, with the participation of cultural leaders, artists, decision makers, thinkers and creators, seeking to explore the future of the culture sector, and discuss creative solutions to the most prominent global issues. The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi revealed that the cultural summit, which will continue for three days at Manarat Al Saadiyat, will discuss contemporary challenges that lead and push for change in the field of creative and cultural industries.

The summit schedule includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, artist talks, workshops, film screenings and a creative dialogue with Aida, the world's first super-realistic, humanoid robot artist.

For his part, the Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, said: “We are pleased to once again organize, in cooperation with a number of the most prominent global partners, the Cultural Summit in the capital, Abu Dhabi, which is keen to be a forum that brings together the most prominent leaders, experts and specialists in culture, art and industries. Through a variety of keynote speeches, panel discussions, lectures, presentations, and talks, the Summit dedicates the experiences of cultural leaders, artists, decision-makers, researchers, thinkers, educators and innovators to the study of these pressing contemporary issues.

On the first day, the summit will address the theme of “living cultural systems” from the perspective of sectors, as it discusses the emergence of live cultural and creative systems that are more flexible, adaptable and responsive to changes.

The Summit will particularly welcome three former Heads of State, Dalia Grybuskaitou, President of Lithuania (2009-2019), Ivo Josipovic, President of Croatia (2010-2015), and Joyce Banda, President of Malawi (2012-2014), and the Cultural Adviser to His Highness the Head of State, Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, a session to explore the role of culture in building resilient and shared societies.
