The 43-year-old Zhao Yanfei is a peasant painter in Chujiazhuang Village, Hequ Town, Ningjin County. After graduating from junior high school, Zhao Yanfei began to learn painting with his father, who was a teacher, and tried to make a living by painting, creating a precedent for the meticulous painting industry in Chujiazhuang Village.
Driven by the radiation of Chujiazhuang Village, several neighboring villages have also embarked on the road to the development of the Gongbi painting industry. Many disabled people and left-behind women have acquired a skill by learning Gongbi painting.
Today, there are nearly 6,000 meticulous painting practitioners in Ningjin County, who create more than 100,000 meticulous paintings every year, and their works are exported to Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions.
