Gunma Prefecture announced on the 17th that 1,041 people were newly infected with the new coronavirus in the prefecture, and two deaths were confirmed.
That's 197 fewer than last Saturday's 1,238.
The number of confirmed infections in the prefecture reached 226,689, of which 459 died.
