The designs presented by the graduates of the Maranguani Institute for Fashion Design under the title “Reinventing the Future” at the Museum of the Future in Dubai, varied between calm and simple cuts, and those that carry a lot of fantasy, by manipulating the layers of fabrics, where students from different countries of the world presented their designs that Spontaneous and bold looks stand out, while the colors were mostly calm, enhancing the feminine look in the look.

The show was concluded with the collection of Indian fashion designer, Rahul Mishra, whose designs bore a lot of boldness in colors and embroidery.

The show began with a group of graduate students’ designs, which were characterized by mostly calm pastel colors, especially light pink and white. In addition to some pieces that fit daily life, where the students relied on non-embroidered fabrics and comfortable cuts.

The students went to the direction of creativity with designs in which they put their own fingerprints, so they relied on the cuts of simple dresses devoid of details, to focus the work on the shoulders and sleeves, which bore the form of layers composed of fabrics.

The designer, Rahul Mishra, presented his own collection at the end of the show, which was characterized by innovative cuts, especially that he used shiny fabrics, as well as embroidered, to give the fashion a lot of details. Raised at the shoulders, to make it appear as if it bears the shape of wings.

The designer relied heavily on gold-colored fabrics and combined them with black to give the dresses a lot of luxury. Rahul also focused on embroidery in unfamiliar designs, making them look as if they were costumes from a movie or coming from another planet or time.

For his part, the Executive Director of the "Marangoni" Institute for Fashion Design, Roberto Liacona, told "Emirates Today", "The Museum of the Future can be described as an iconic building, and the fashion show that we present in this building is distinguished by its combination of real and virtual shows, and designs appear on The platform and through the screens, and the preparation for this show took several months, especially since work on the Metaverse technology is almost a year away, and this presentation highlights all the efforts made in the field of technology and innovation, which supports the designers’ vision in the future.”

Roberto pointed out that the show included designs by students from Italy, Britain and France, and Indian designer Rahul Mishra, who graduated from the same institute and founded his own label, was chosen to be a guest at this first event in Dubai.

Regarding the opening of the Fashion Institute in Dubai, Roberto stressed that the institute’s footprint is distinguished by the fact that it offers luxury designs in the capitals and cities of creativity around the world, including London, Paris, Miami, Shanghai, Milan, Florence, Mumbai and others, explaining that “this institute was established in Dubai, because it is a city that carries in Its orientation is in line with the creative orientation of the institute.”

He pointed out that Dubai carries a distinctive and positive energy that encourages the establishment of private projects, and this supports innovation and contemporary work that predicts the future, so studying fashion design in Dubai will give designers the opportunity to exploit all this ideal environment for creativity, and to present their own projects.

Roberto advised all beginners in the fashion world, especially graduates from the institute, to consider graduation as the starting stone. After graduation, there will be a point to start either with a special project or working with a prominent brand, but it must be taken into account that fashion changes and must constantly change and evolve.

Realistic and virtual display

The combination of real and virtual fashion shows attracted the audience, as the platform that the models passed through was designed in a way that allows the model to pass in front of the audience, and then this traffic is cut off by passing behind giant screens placed on both sides of the platform.

The passage of the model behind the screen coincided with the appearance of a model from the virtual world wearing the same design on the screen through virtual reality technologies, which created a state of interaction with this technology, and the question about the possibility of becoming a footprint in the world of fashion with all the developments in the world of technology.

Roberto Liacona:

“The Museum of the Future is an iconic building, and our show combined the real and the virtual, and the preparation for it took several months.”

Students from different countries of the world presented calm colors that enhance the feminine appearance, and highlight the spontaneous and bold looks.
