Communities are looking for solutions to reduce their energy bills.

For this, the municipality of Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme) has planned to heat its buildings less, in particular by lowering the set temperatures on all the buildings in the city, reports France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

Reduce public lighting

Another solution considered: delaying the start of heating for certain buildings, such as schools.

Favoring a start after the All Saints holidays would save 80,000 euros.

The pooling of buildings to cut off the heating in others is also under study.

There is also talk of further reducing public lighting, which represents 45% of the electricity bill, or even removing it for half the night.

Finally, the municipality has started the energy renovation of 14 municipal buildings
