Stephen King will see another of his bestsellers brought to the screen.

The horror master's latest work,

Fairy Tale

, was only released in the United States at the beginning of the month and it is already of interest to Hollywood.

Director Paul Greengrass (notably known for directing three films in the

Jason Bourne

saga , and most recently

News of the World

) filed an option on the project, and the author immediately accepted it.

And what could be more normal: the creator of Pennywise is a fan of the filmmaker, which is really very good.

Fairy Tale

tells the story of a 17-year-old teenager who inherits the key to a magical kingdom, in which good and evil are at war.

By saving this imaginary world, the young man could well save ours.

A book that makes you happy

Stephen King wrote the book during the pandemic, when he searched amid anxiety for a book idea that could make him "happy", as he explains on the website of his publisher, Simon and Schuster.

Fairy Tale

is a work of genius.

A classic adventure story, but also an unsettling contemporary allegory,” Paul Greengrass told Deadline.

For the moment, no studio is attached to the project, which the director is developing and producing himself, but the publication claims that it would be surprising if no Hollywood major embarked on the acquisition of the rights.

Some of Stephen King's greatest novels have been adapted for film, such as

Charlie

, The

Shining

,

Simetierre

, and

Misery

.
