The Loiret teachers' unions are worried.

The start of the school year took place two weeks ago but there are still a few teachers in the establishments.

The subjects that suffer the most are technology, eco-management or even modern languages such as German, reports La République du Centre.

A lack of support staff

According to trade unionists, this shortage of candidates can be explained by the lack of attractiveness of certain areas of the department.

Another concern is also raised, namely the lack of substitute teachers.

According to Cyrille Pascaloux, regional manager of the SE-Uns union, the situation could become more complicated from the All Saints holidays.

The SE-UNSA departmental manager also points to the lack of support staff in the department.

"There are children waiting for AESH (accompanying children with disabilities) and we lack nurses, doctors, social workers and managers, who are essential," she laments.

For its part, the academy affirms that the start of the school year “went well” despite some “adjustment problems”.

With the drought, more and more houses are cracking in the Loiret
