The swimming pool of the Tennis-Club of Reims (Marne), an Art Deco building classified as historical monuments since 2001, is increasingly dilapidated.
In order to continue to be able to open, the establishment will have to carry out major renovations, reports Le Parisien.
Damaged mosaics, collapsing embankments or moving ground, the elements that prove the need for restoration of the basin are multiple.
But to do this, it is a question of finding 1.3 million euros.
To this end, the Tennis-Club signed an agreement this summer with the Heritage Foundation.
Fundraising until fall 2023
Concretely, this made it possible to open a platform dedicated to donations to finance this project.
The idea is therefore to attract private patrons and, why not, American families who participated in the reconstruction of Reims in the 1920s. The collection is open until autumn 2023.
