Bad luck for those who were planning to have a good meal of cockles or clams... While the high tides take place this weekend and until Tuesday (coefficient of more than 100 this Sunday), the prefecture of the Loire- Atlantique has decided to prohibit the collection and marketing of shellfish from part of the northern coast of the department.

The area concerned goes from Mesquer to La Turballe, indicates the decree issued on Friday evening.

In question, as regularly, the proliferation of a dinophysis algae which produces a toxin causing digestive disorders in the consumer of shellfish.

To avoid these inconveniences (vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, etc.), professionals have also been asked to remove the shellfish from this sector which has been on the market since last Tuesday.
