The whole of the United Kingdom is in shock after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and the stars are no exception.

Sir Paul McCartney, who has never hidden his admiration for the monarch who decorated him, posted a message on Instagram in which he pays tribute to the one who reigned 70 years.

“May God bless Queen Elizabeth II/May she rest in peace/Long live the King,” he wrote, also referring to his successor Charles III.

Mick Jagger, of the Rolling Stones, has also shared his sorrow after the announcement of the death of the queen.

“Throughout my life, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, has always been there.
