The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has decided to implement the system from 2025, three years from now, regarding the nation's first mandatory installation of solar power generation equipment in houses, which is being considered by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from households, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is considering revisions to ordinances requiring the installation of photovoltaic power generation equipment in newly constructed general housing.



According to the metropolitan government, it will be the first time in Japan that installation of solar power generation equipment will be compulsory for ordinary houses.



For the revision of the ordinance, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has compiled the basic policy of the system based on the opinions solicited from the housing manufacturers and others who are subject to the obligation.



According to this, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government plans to submit a revised ordinance to the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly in December this year, and if it is approved, it will be enforced in April 2025.
