The Sharjah Book Authority is participating in the activities of the 21st edition of the Amman International Book Fair, which this year raises the slogan “Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine,” and will continue until the tenth of September.

In its participating pavilion, the authority will review Sharjah’s experience in investing in the publishing sector, building a knowledge society, and advancing generations aware of the importance of books in achieving the aspirations of their countries. In front of 400 Arab and foreign publishers, from 22 countries participating in the exhibition, she revealed the quality services and facilities offered by the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone.

The authority highlights its efforts to make qualitative leaps in the publishing sector, as it presents to the publishers and writers participating in the exhibition the vision and objectives of the Sharjah International Literary Rights Agency, through which it aspires to provide new opportunities for publishers and writers to achieve a greater Arab and international presence that enriches the cultural movement. It opens the way for writers to translate their books, transform them into visual and audio creative works, and ensure their wider spread and distribution.

The authority's pavilion at the exhibition witnessed the visit of Haifa Al-Najjar, Jordanian Minister of Culture, who met with representatives of the authority, and received from them a copy of the book of His Highness Sheikh Dr. By making books, developing mechanisms for disseminating knowledge sources, encouraging a culture of reading, and supporting the publishing industry in the Arab world.

The Emirates Publishers Association is participating in the exhibition, and the association provides the exhibition’s audience, through its pioneering project “Platform”, the opportunity to view the publications of 33 Emirati publishing houses, as part of its efforts to introduce the publishing movement and the book industry in the Emirates, and to enable its members to participate in exhibitions International Book.

The association presents 309 new titles in various types of literature, thought, scientific and cognitive fields, and the field of translation, with a total of 2747 books.

The Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association, Rashid Al-Koos, said: “The association’s participation in the Oman International Book Fair is an extension of our permanent efforts to introduce Emirati books, and an affirmation of the cultural link and the common aspirations of publishers in the UAE and the Arab region, in order to reach the Arab book to new horizons that achieve more motivation. to read, and to meet the diverse interests of readers.
