Areej Al-Qarni and Moaz Al-Roqi crowned as champions of the Arab Reading Challenge in Saudi Arabia

 The Arab Reading Challenge, in its sixth session, was crowned by student Areej bint Abdullah Al-Qarni and student Moaz bin Mesraj Al-Roqi two champions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia among 1,425,578 students who participated in the Kingdom in the largest reading demonstration of its kind in the world in the Arabic language.


The student, Moaz bin Mesraj Al-Roqi, from the sixth grade of primary school, at Al-Amjad Al-Thania Elementary School, was declared the champion of the Arab reading challenge in its sixth session at the level of Saudi Arabia, among male students, and the student, Areej bint Abdullah Al-Qarni, from the third intermediate grade at Al-Batool Intermediate School, was declared the champion of the Arab reading challenge at the level of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Among the female students, during the closing ceremony of the Arab Reading Challenge at the King Khalid Civilization Center in Qassim, which was held under the patronage of Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al-Muqbil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Programs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of Sarah Al-Nuaimi, Director of the Office of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives The organization for the Arab Reading Challenge, and a number of officials and educators based on the initiative.


And qualified for the final qualifiers at the level of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ten top ten, from whom the judging committees chose the champion of the challenge at the Saudi national level for this year's session.


And he was awarded the title of Distinguished Supervisor, Professor and Educator Abdul Rahman bin Saud Al Harthy from the Educational District in Taif Governorate, after he was distinguished from among the 24,200 supervisors who participated in empowering students participating in the challenge at the level of Saudi Arabia, followed by Mr. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Qarni, and Professor Khalid bin Muhammad Mansour in second and third places.


As for the title of Distinguished School in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the sixth session of the Arab Reading Challenge, it was awarded to a middle school and secondary school in private education schools in Dammam Governorate, followed by Abi Talha Al-Ansari High School in second place and Waad Academy in third place.


The sixth edition of the Arab Reading Challenge constitutes the largest of its kind since the first launch of the Arab Reading Event, in which 22.27 million students from 44 countries around the world participated.


The students benefited from technology and digital tools in a smart way, as the challenge presented options for summarizing the books read by the participants into electronic files, while the students were provided with paper and digital reading materials.


Dr. Muhammad bin Saud al-Muqbil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Programs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressed the prominent role that the Arabic language plays in building a generation of distinguished and creative people who are able to innovate and excel in all fields.. He noted its importance in building bridges of cultural and civilizational communication between peoples. As a way to express their heritage and culture.


He pointed out that the demand for participation in initiatives that enhance the status of the Arabic language and its content reflects its value in the conscience of Saudi youth as it is the language of national identity and one of the approved international languages, stressing its role in protecting cultural heritage and civilizational identity.


And he valued the efforts of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's global initiatives and its pioneering role in spreading science and knowledge and supporting the value and prestige of the Arabic language.

He congratulated all the participants and winners of the male and female students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Arab Reading Challenge project in its sixth session.


Sarah Al Nuaimi, Director of the Office of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, said: "We are keen on the continuous expansion of the Arab Reading Challenge initiative, the largest reading event of its kind in the Arabic language, which witnesses continuous participation, great interest and qualitative development, cycle after cycle."


Al-Naimi added: "The keenness of Saudi students to participate in the Arab Reading Challenge in all its sessions confirms the interest of future generations in reading and knowledge achievement as a means to achieve development."


Al Nuaimi congratulated the champions of the Arab Reading Challenge in Saudi Arabia and all its supporters in the country, praising the role of the Ministry of Education, educational districts, school administrations and supervisors, and affirmed the aspiration of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's global initiatives for more bilateral cooperation in various fields.
