Actor Lee Jung-jae, who appeared in the Netflix series 'Squid Game', has been cast as the main character in the Star Wars series 'The Acolyte'.
Hollywood entertainment media, including Deadline, reported on the 8th (local time) that Disney Plus produced 'Accolite' with actors Jodie Turner-Smith and Amandla Stenberg to take on the lead roles.
It has not been confirmed which character Lee Jung-jae will play.
Director Leslie Hedland, who co-produced Netflix's 'Russian Doll' in 2019, has confirmed the participation of writers and executive producers for 'Accolite'.
'Accolite' is expected to be set in a story 100 years before the prequel, but the details have not been revealed yet.
Lee Jung-jae was the first Korean actor to be nominated for Best Actor at the 74th Emmy Awards.
