[Explanation] A simple wooden bridge formed by three tree trunks with different lengths and thicknesses built on a rushing river. After the earthquake of magnitude 6.8 in Luding, Sichuan, it became a "life channel" for the seriously injured to help the affected people transfer to a safe area , the bridge is also known as the "Bridge of Life".

[Explanation] On September 6, a reporter from China News Agency followed forest fire rescue personnel to the "Bridge of Life" located in Qinggangping Village, Gonggabu Township, Moxi Town, Luding County.

To get to the "Bridge of Life", you need to go through a thorny trail with a drop of more than 100 meters and a slope of nearly 60 degrees, walk through a river beach full of rocks, and then turn over a nearly 800-meter-long rock collapse.

During the period, aftershocks continued, and gravel fell from time to time. The team members needed to quickly pass through while observing the collapsed mountain.

It is not only necessary to use both hands and feet to pass through the landslide, but also to avoid the intertwined roots of trees.

After a climb, at 17:00, the reporter finally saw the "Bridge of Life". There were still firefighters escorting the affected people on the bridge.

Our main job today is to ensure the normal operation of this single-plank bridge.

Since we stuck to the wooden bridge at 6:30 this morning, we have transported nearly 50 batches and more than 100 people so far.

[Explanation] It is understood that after the earthquake, 77 people from the Ganzi Detachment of the Sichuan Forest Fire Brigade rushed to Qinggangping Village, Moxi Town, the epicenter of the earthquake.

However, due to the collapse of the mountain, a fast-flowing river has become the biggest obstacle between rescuers and trapped people.

In order to transfer the affected people on the other side of the river to a nearby resettlement site, Zhang Guosheng, the leader of the Yajiang Brigade of the Garze Prefecture Forest Fire Brigade, led his team across the river and cut down trees to build a simple wooden bridge on the spot.

Three tree trunks, a few ropes, a stretcher, and two firefighters, walking the river, climbing the mountain... Zhang Guosheng bluntly said that every time they go to the bridge to transport the injured, the firefighters are under enormous psychological pressure.

(We) use people and drones to find the best location for the bridge.

Our fire and rescue personnel were divided into 4 groups. The first group, after the sanitation staff quickly entered the village, diagnosed and treated the patients with minor injuries.

The second group quickly made stretchers to move the seriously ill wounded to a free area (closer) to the river.

The third group uses local materials to make simple wooden bridges.

In the fourth group we put him on the opposite side of the river to deal with the seriously wounded.

[Commentary] Qiu Xueqing, a villager in the second group of Qinggangping Village, heard that there was an earthquake in his hometown, and took his fellow villagers home overnight to see. The original smooth way home was damaged by the earthquake, but seeing the wooden bridge over the river made him feel comfort.

My heart is very sad, it is very sad to see this scene.

Originally (going home) was (walking) this road, going up this road, coming from this bridge.

Thank you firefighters, thank them.

[Explanation] It is reported that on the morning of the 6th, the members of the Kangding Squadron of the Forest Fire Detachment of Ganzi Prefecture carried out reinforcement and reinforcement again on the basis of the original simple wooden bridge.

As of 18:00 on September 6, rescuers had successfully transferred more than 300 people, including 29 seriously injured, through the "Bridge of Life".
