At 12:52 on September 5, an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

After the earthquake, many rescue forces rushed to the disaster area for rescue.

  The Sichuan Provincial Fire Rescue Corps immediately dispatched 30 people from the front-running team of Luding County to the epicenter to check the disaster situation, and dispatched a total of 530 earthquake rescue forces from 7 detachments including Ganzi, Chengdu, Deyang, Leshan, Ya'an, Meishan, and Ziyang to immediately rushed to the epicenter to carry out rescue.

  The Sichuan Provincial Emergency Management Department launched the second-level response urgently, and at the same time mobilized a large number of rescue forces to rush to the earthquake area to carry out rescue and disposal work.

  The Red Cross Society of China launched a three-level emergency response.

The first batch of emergency allocation of 320 tents, 2,200 family relief bags (boxes), 1,200 quilts, and 300 folding beds to support local rescue work.

  At 17:00, the twin-tailed scorpion UAV mounted the photoelectric reconnaissance pod and the air base station equipment took off from Zigong Fengming Airport.

One hour and 40 minutes later, the drone flew over the epicenter area, launched a wide-area inspection of the disaster situation and implemented public communication coverage tasks, and the rescue and relief command and the mobile phone communication of the affected people were gradually restored.

  At 18:02, 1 plane and 5 people from the Chengdu Flying Eagle Air Rescue Team of the Sichuan Fire Rescue Corps flew to the epicenter of the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Luding to investigate the earthquake damage and emergency rescue work from the air.

  As of 19:28 on the 5th, firefighters from the Ganzi Detachment of the Sichuan Forest Fire Brigade had transferred 70 villagers and 15 seriously injured people in Qinggangping Village, Moxi Town, Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture.

  At 6:00 on the 6th, in response to the blockage of roads entering Wandong Village and Ziyachang Village caused by landslides, firefighters carried 6 powered rubber boats and related rescue equipment to Ziyachang Village. The team is currently investigating the danger and treating them. The wounded and the trapped people were transferred; another part of the rescuers observed the situation of the dammed lake in Wandong Village at all times, and provided safety warnings for the transfer of the trapped people by boats.

  As of 9:35, firefighters have successfully transferred 15 people from Ziyachang Village, treated 6 wounded, and transferred 2 people from Wandong Village.

  So far, the earthquake has killed 65 people.
