This is an unprecedented initiative launched by the town hall of Bourg-lès-Valence, in the Drôme.

As relayed by France Bleu Drôme Ardèche on Saturday, the City thus offers residents the possibility of recovering used water from their private swimming pools in order to water green spaces.

A large part of the trees planted recently in the town would already be dying, whereas with 1 m3, a dozen of them can be watered.

The idea was born from the request of a citizen, who wanted to empty his 7 m3 swimming pool.

He therefore asked the town hall to offer them to come and pump the water to reuse it.

Since then, the municipality has provided the equipment and its agents to recover the water from the swimming pools.

It is possible to water the vegetation with water treated with chlorine, but not with salt, specify our colleagues.

An anti-waste operation

"This unprecedented eco-responsible initiative thus makes it possible to preserve water resources and avoid wasting them, while allowing municipal services to ensure the continuity of the maintenance of green spaces in times of drought", welcomes the City. of Bourg-lès-Valence on Facebook.

Residents who wish to participate in this project can contact the Municipal Technical Center by email (ctm@bourg-les-valence.fr) or by telephone at 04.75.79.45.55.
