Hino Town's farming experience facility "Blume Hill" has been producing local beer for many years at the brewery on the premises, and has been cultivating hops, the raw material for beer, for the past three years.

On the 3rd, a hop harvesting experience session was held, and the brewery staff first explained how the yellow resin contained in the hop flowers called “maribana” creates the unique aroma and bitterness of beer. did.



After this, the participants carefully picked the "marihana" from the hop vines one by one and put them in baskets.



The harvested hops will be used to prepare the beer that will be sold around the end of next month.



A 34-year-old man from Ibaraki City, Osaka, who participated said, "It was the first time I actually touched hops, and I could smell beer from the flowers."



A 52-year-old woman from Kyoto said, "It was strange to think that these flowers could be made into beer. Knowing the ingredients made me want to drink beer even more."
