End of summer, beginning of the new school year, it was a week of transition that took place.

And the news?

It has passed.

To catch up, here is our essential summary.

Artemis struggles to take off

Caramba, failed again.

The Artemis rocket, whose takeoff had been postponed from Monday to Saturday, still remained on the ground.

After more than three hours of trying to resolve a fuel leak during the rocket's fueling operations, time was running out for the launch teams.

We will therefore have to wait to see in space the new NASA mega-rocket which marks the return of the Americans to the Moon.

And for now, no date has been set.

Gorbachev's funeral, without pomp or Putin

He was a Nobel Peace Prize winner and one of the great political figures of the 20th century.

On Saturday, hundreds of Russians bid farewell to the Soviet Union's last leader Mikhail Gorbachev.

Funeral without pomp marked by the absence of President Vladimir Putin absence justified by the Kremlin by a busy "schedule".

No day of national mourning was declared and foreign leaders were also absent, due to the diplomatic context of the war in Ukraine.

Gorbachev died Tuesday evening at the age of 91 following a “long and serious illness”, according to the hospital where he was treated.

He made history by precipitating, in spite of himself, the disappearance of the Soviet empire in 1991, while he was trying to save it with democratic and economic reforms, thus ending the Cold War.

US Open: Alizé Cornet and Clara Burel eliminated

Dwindling hopes.

There were three French women and men competing at the US Open, on the night of Saturday to Sunday (Paris time).

After Richard Gasquet, corrected by Rafael Nadal, Alizé Cornet and Clara Burel were eliminated in the third round of the New York Grand Slam.

Caroline Garcia and Corentin Moutet will therefore be the only tricolor representatives in the round of 16.

Consolation: it's already better than last year, when no Blue had passed the third round.

War in Ukraine: Erdogan offers his mediation for Zaporozhye

The Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye, occupied by the Russian army, once again focused all the concerns this weekend.

On Saturday, it "lost connection again" to the electricity grid on Saturday.

This problem arose "after new bombardments in the area", according to the IAEA.

Like Turkey's actions to obtain an agreement on cereals in July, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered Vladimir Putin his mediation in the crisis at the Zaporozhye power plant.

The great return of the big sale (of Lille)

Mussels, fries and a large bazaar of improbable objects at the lowest prices.

Lille's big braderie made its post-Covid-19 comeback in XL format this weekend.

This recycling event is considered to be the largest flea market in Europe: 80 kilometers of stalls and some 8,000 exhibitors.

"Two to three million visitors" were expected had announced the town hall of Lille.
