On the morning of the 3rd, in a swollen river in Higashi-Omi City, Shiga Prefecture, a car that was believed to belong to a man and a woman who had come to a campsite in the upper reaches was found severely damaged.

The two have not been contacted, and police and fire departments are searching the area as they may have been swept away by the river.

Around 7:30 am on the 3rd, a nearby person found a passenger car overturned in the Aichi River in Tadehata-cho, Higashi-Omi City and called 110.



According to the police and fire department, the passenger car was found upside down and severely broken, and it seems that it belongs to two men and women who came to a campsite about 1 km upstream from the scene.

The two have not been contacted and their whereabouts cannot be confirmed.



In the vicinity of Higashi-Omi City, according to radar analysis, about 90 mm of heavy rain fell in one hour until 8:00 p.m. on the 2nd, and the Aichi River continued to swell.



Police and firefighters are searching the area, assuming that the two may have been swept away by the swollen river.
