Two years later, the seventh wave passed but stopped receding.
The number of positive cases has stagnated for two weeks above 17,000 per day (on average over 7 days), against more than 130,000 at the peak reached in mid-July, according to daily data from Public Health France.
Soon the eighth wave
However, the trend remains downward in hospitals, where the number of “Covid patients” fell back below 15,000 at the start of the week (compared to more than 21,000 at the end of July), including just under 850 in critical care.
