Due to a strike by the staff of the T2C (Public transport of the Clermont urban area), most public transport services in Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme) are interrupted this Thursday, September 1, day of back to school, reports France 3 Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.

Only lines 26, 31 to 37, some shuttles, some pick-up services and the on-demand transport service have been maintained.

A lasting strike?

This strike was launched by five trade unions.

They require a change in remuneration, staff and the level of supply, deemed insufficient in relation to attendance.

These proposals have been under negotiation since the beginning of 2022, but no satisfactory proposal concerning wages and the level of supply has been made by the SMTC-AC (Syndicat Mixte des Transports en Commun de l'Agglomération Clermontoise), which organizes the network. .

In response, Blandine Galliot, the president of the T2C, highlighted the financial constraints which would weigh on the structure and which would limit their room for maneuver, indicate our colleagues.

She thus fears that the current, renewable movement will continue.

Similar disruptions are already expected for Friday and Saturday.
