Single mothers are going to be entitled to a little oxygen.

"From November 2022", one of the promises of President-candidate Emmanuel Macron will apply: "support the income of single-parent families, by increasing the amount of minimum child support by 50%", from 116 to 174 euros per child and per month.

This revaluation appears on the roadmap of the Ministry of Solidarity, released after the government seminar on Wednesday.

This sum corresponds to the minimum amount paid by the family allowance fund, either to supplement small pensions, or in the event of non-payment by the debtor parent.

During the presidential campaign, the Institut Montaigne had estimated the cost of this measure at 900 million euros per year, on the basis of an expenditure of 1.8 billion in 2020 for more than 800,000 beneficiaries.
