, launched ten days ago on HBO, it is the great return of the heroes of

Always more spectacular, always more expensive... The war is raging between the giants of video on demand.

After the dragons

, here are the hobbits, the elves and the dwarves.

This new epic series titled

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

is derived from the fantasy literary saga, created by Tolkien.

Its blockbuster adaptation by Amazon Prime Video cost $465 million for the ten-episode first season alone.

A sum to which must be added 250 million dollars, the price of acquisition of the rights by the group five years ago.

And the excess should not stop there, since five seasons of the

Rings of power

 are planned.

The group's founder, Jeff Bezos, one of the richest men in the world, is reputed to be a fan of Tolkien.

The plot this time takes place 4,000 years before the trilogy of films shot by Peter Jackson and the original books.

Objective of this bidding: to try to capture more and more fickle subscribers.
