Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the launch of the "Creative Innovation Challenge", calling on entrepreneurs in the creative sector in the region and the world to participate in providing innovative solutions that contribute to preserving the UAE's tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and disseminating it using the latest means. technological.

In addition to cash prizes for the first three winners, a selection of the best participants will have the opportunity to appear at the Dubai Culture platform at GITEX North Star, which is considered the largest event for startups and entrepreneurs in the region, and is hosted by the Dubai World Trade Center from 17-17 And next October 20, in conjunction with GITEX Global 2022, the region's most prominent technology exhibition.

The “Creative Innovation Challenge” is a global innovation competition, which aims to attract the best regional and international startups working in the fields of cultural and creative industries in order to design unique methods through which they can retrieve, re-imagine and develop ideas through which the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the UAE can be preserved. and sharing it through a digital experience, using modern technologies to obtain an interactive experience that the user can live and interact with, so that stories and ideas are told through an effective approach, which contributes to the transfer of experiences and the exchange of knowledge.

In this context, Hala Badri, Director-General of the Culture and Arts Authority, said: “As a governmental body entrusted with the cultural and creative sector in Dubai, we are keen to find innovative ways to document, preserve and celebrate the components of our rich Emirati heritage, especially since access to cultural heritage is essential in the development of societies. It develops a sense of its identity and a sense of its continuity, and promotes respect for cultural diversity and human creativity, as advocated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
