A detainee from the prison of Périgueux (Dordogne), convicted five times for crimes, escaped and is actively sought, we learned Thursday from the prosecution, confirming information from France Bleu Périgord.

“His absence was noticed on Wednesday afternoon”, declared the public prosecutor Solène Belaouar, well after his escape which would have taken place on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, specifies France Bleu.

The prosecutor adds, however, that the profile of the individual is "not considered dangerous".

Sentenced to a total of two years in prison for misdemeanors

The detainee is a young man sentenced in full to two years in prison last March for five cases of "traffic offences, narcotics, violence and contempt".

“He was not convicted in the Dordogne and is not from the department”, specifies the magistrate who does not wish to give more details on his profile and the operating mode.

The judicial police of Périgueux is in charge of the investigation.
