On August 31, 2022, local time, in southern Israel, archaeologists, paleontologists and conservationists from the Israel Antiquities Authority, Tel Aviv University and Ben Gurion University found a rod from the Ravidim kibbutz near the kibbutz. Ancient tusk fossil about 2.5 meters long.

Biologist Dr Eitan More from Jerusalem was the first to discover the fossil.

He visited the area after reading about prehistoric elephants, and during the archaeological process uncovered what appeared to be a large animal bone.

After further research and observations, Dr. Moore discovered that it was a fossilized ivory from a giant prehistoric elephant and immediately reported it to the Israel Antiquities Authority.
