The dilemma of recruitment and appointment

Thoughtful recruitment is a constant pillar of the success of any organization, and the harmonious team is always the final say, whether it is in the highest administrative tasks or in the simplest executive duties;

Because then the institution becomes an integrated whole that works according to plans and instructions. There are no obstacles to the growth process and nothing stands between visions and goals.

In order to achieve this, there must be a clear strategy when appointing and selecting candidates, and then when placing them in the appropriate roles as required by the interests of the institution;

These are difficult steps for any human resources department, no matter how experienced and experienced they are.

In order to justify this difficulty, it is necessary to list some of the challenges associated with it, perhaps foremost of which is understanding the actual need of the institution for employment, and whether it is in a stage of growth that requires more cadres, or is it going through a phase of fluctuation in the quality of service and needs to be advanced as soon as possible;

If this step is completed, the process of attracting the best candidates will follow. It is related to the skill of the hiring managers, in addition to the institutional reputation and the mechanisms used to advertise the job.

No less important are the filters and verification of CVs, up to personal interviews, which require all the experience and ingenuity of those in charge of them.

Even the most powerful HR officials are sometimes unable to extrapolate all the characteristics of a candidate and decipher the discrepancy between how he appears in an interview and his true personality that will emerge later once he joins the team.

I will continue here that I do not add anything new as much as I offer some general advice that is useful in this regard. There is no single recipe for a solution, and it is not possible to go into that, even with dozens of articles;

However, I can list some priorities, including not rushing to make a hiring decision, because vacant jobs cost you money and delay operations, but bad hiring costs you more in the long run, and also deprives you of the best candidates;

And if you ever encounter the problem of differentiating between skills and personal traits when making a decision, I advise you not to be completely biased to skills and experiences just because you want someone ready to work quickly and productively, but rather focus on positive personal traits because they are the basis for building a successful business dominated by strong relationships, experiences and skills can be acquired Over time, changing personality traits is impossible;

Perhaps the solution here is to find the right mix, and to hire those who have the skills and experience in addition to personality and morals.

One of the most important factors, in my opinion, is the neutrality of employment, i.e. you have to transcend preconceived notions and unconscious biases in order to provide equal opportunities for everyone, so that you will benefit from the positive effects of diversity and you will inevitably meet those with merit and merit.

You should also start taking advantage of modern technologies and using smart recruitment options based on data science, especially analyzing the collected data and tracking its output in order to create a mini-list of the most suitable applicants, of course after entering the recruitment metrics;

Also, do not forget to use the Internet and social media to build an institutional reputation that is able to attract the best talent.

In conclusion, I advise you to first look for the talents that already exist in your organization, and meet them again, providing them with words of support and motivation, along with more authority and some guidance;

Who knows, perhaps today you found what you wanted and achieved what you wanted, but then you actually succeeded and solved the dilemma of employment.
