The inhabitants of the town of Orée-d'Anjou (Maine-et-Loire) have had drinking water concerns for several days,

Le Courrier de l'Ouest

reported on Tuesday.

Indeed, the water that comes out of the taps or the various pipes has a brown color and leaves residues, even in the shower, local residents explain to our colleagues.

It has therefore been impossible to drink, wash or run a machine properly since August 26.

In a message posted on Facebook, the municipality of Orée-d'Anjou explains that the coloring of the water is the result of work carried out in a nearby factory.

For its part, the Mauges Communauté agglomeration gives another version on a daily basis: the overconsumption of water would have led to the separation of sediment in the pipes.

A turbidity of the water would thus have been observed.

Pipeline purges

The City of Orée-d'Anjou plans to distribute bottles of water for residents still affected this Wednesday.

The various purges carried out in recent hours have made it possible to resolve the situation in certain areas, but not in the entire municipality.

The latter updates the information intended for citizens on its Facebook page.
