"Buryat hour"

In the comedy directed by director, producer and actor Chimit Zhamyanov, three friends go to the wedding for the fourth, but instead of the usual celebration, they find a lot of adventures.

In the process, the characters test their friendship for strength.

The plot of the story, the presentation and the general mood of the picture evoke associations with the "Bachelor Party in Vegas" and with the Buryat flavor, and also suggest an attempt by the authors to compete with the film production of Comedy Productions - the main characters in the picture are members of the trio of comedians "Chiva 03".

Previously, they were mainly engaged in commercials, but in 2021 they have “grown up” to the big screen.

“Many wrote to us, subscribers, they say, let's shoot a big picture, a full-length film.

In general, we are easy-going guys.

So it turned out - let's take a picture?

Let's shoot,” said Chimit Zhamyanov in an interview with the Arigus portal.

"Teachers to the fullest"

“Teachers to the Whole Head” is a domestic comedy about the adventures of two special agents introduced into the school as teachers.

Their number one task is to catch criminals.

Along with this, the heroes acquire a new profession and, of course, are looking for love.

For the leading actors Viktor Lebedev and Anton Belov, this picture was the first in the filmography, as well as for director Andrei Yavshits.

However, the track record of the second director - Yerzia Ertles - is not much more extensive and, in addition to "Teachers to the Whole Head", includes the short film "Future, I Love You".

"Mayan calendar"

The film adaptation of the story of the same name by Victoria Lederman tells about the fantastic adventures of three teenagers.

During a school trip to an archaeological find, the protagonist writes the date of the trip with chalk on an ancient monolith dotted with mysterious symbols.

After that, the guys begin to live time backwards, from the future to the past.

The family picture, as well as the literary source, shows how the characters of the main characters change, faced with a magical mystery and the seeming impossibility of returning everything to normal - after all, for this you need to erase the inscription from the stone, and he - in the future.

“I will say briefly - the author is satisfied.

Director Victoria Fanasyutina (she is also a screenwriter) handled the text quite carefully, leaving the main storyline and all the key points.

In addition, the film has a fantastic cast: Fedor Dobronravov, Yuri Baturin, Ravshana Kurkova, Raisa Ryazanova and young debutant actors.

When I first got on the set and saw my heroes come to life, I had a joyful shock - they were exactly the same, the very ones that I originally had in my head.

This is just a 100% hit in the images, ”said Victoria Lederman in an interview for the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Samara.

In July 2022, the film "Calendar ma (y) ya" became the winner of the film festival "In the family circle", receiving an award in the nomination "Best Film" in the children's program.

"Monster" (Monstrous)

Director Chris Sivertson (All the Cheerleaders Die, I Know Who Killed Me) presents a horror film about a mother and child who settle into a secluded home.

Near the house, and later inside, a certain mystical creature begins to appear, because of which the lives of the heroes are in jeopardy.

However, later on, an “unexpected” plot twist turns everything on its head, turning the mystical horror about a mysterious entity announced in the trailer into a psychological thriller about the problems of the protagonist, who is trying to survive a bereavement.

Among the advantages of the picture - the participation of Christina Ricci ("The Matrix: Resurrection", "Sleepy Hollow", "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas") and Santino Barnard ("Penny Dreadful: City of Angels", "8-bit Christmas", TV series " Grey's Anatomy") and the authentic entourage of the USA in the 1950s of the last century.

Crimes of the Future

One of the biggest representatives of independent cinema, Canadian director David Cronenberg ("The Fly", "The Brood", "Justified Violence") returns with a new picture - repeating the title of his second full-length author's work produced in 1970.

It is impossible to call the new film a remake or a rethinking: despite some coincidences (in particular, the idea of growing new organs by the human body appeared in the 1970 film), these are completely different stories, with different ideas and messages.

The events of the new film, selected for the main program of the Cannes Film Festival, unfold against the backdrop of post-apocalyptic scenery, in a decadent society where people, thanks to accelerated evolution, have practically ceased to feel pain.

In an attempt to get new sensations and pleasures, they plunge into the abyss of experiments.

Certain visual solutions of Cronenberg's film seem to be a tribute to Hans Rudolf Giger, the artist who created the legendary Alien and one of the fathers of "biomechanics", while others - already philosophical - act as a kind of homage to the horror legend Clive Barker and his Cenobites (the HellRaisers franchise).

The heroine Kristen Stewart practically quotes Barker to the hero Viggo Mortensen: "You know, surgery is the new sex."

"Crimes of the Future" is a kind of fantasy film, with elements of a thriller, in which the ideas of transhumanism are intertwined with the eroticism inherent in Cronenberg and the aesthetics of body horror.

But whether a mass audience, and not a fan of the director's work, can appreciate this is an open question.
